German Chamomile flowers
(matricaria recutita)
Certified organic. 1.5g per sachet.
The tea bag paper, which is oxygen bleached, has an apertured weave for a better flavour transfer.
GOLDEN FIELDS’ organic chamomile is grown on Golden Field’s propety near Lincoln, Canterbury, in the South Island of New Zealand. The flowers are hand picked. They are milled and packed on site .
Chamomile has been used for thousands of years. It is a popular help for numerous small ailments. This includes sleep disorders, anxiety, muscle tension, poor digestion, colic, inflammations and wound healing. It can be taken as a beverage or applied as a poultice. It is a traditional eye wash for inflamed eyes.
Mrs M Grieve in her book Modern Herbal writes: ‘the infusion can be given freely in teaspoonful doses to small children, for whose ailments it is an excellent remedy’.
SUGGESTION OF USE:
Infuse 1 or 2 minutes in water that was boiling, using a rather large cup. Cover to keep the volatile oils in the cup, To fully appreciate its aroma and its virtues, our recommendation is not to sweeten this infusion.
